reusing green onions

Did you know that if you keep the white end of the green onions and place them in some water in another week you will have more green onions. They just regrow from an inner layer. I bought organic green onions and then place the "discards" in this old spaghetti sauce jar and placed in a sunny window. AWESOME!

Open Jar Succulent environement

One large glass jar any shape.
Items to place in the bottom
     I used:

Animals or small items to decorate

How to:

Layer your items that aid with drainage at the bottom of the glass
then add about 6 inches of dirt

And then added a plastic frog, snake, and tiny turtle to bring a little more charachter

Window Sill Creativity

I used different glasses and containers I had to put display my Chick and Hen Succulents in my kitchen window sill. From Right to left: a recycled glass goblet, a broken beer glass, a mug with Native American insignia,a mug from my bridal shower which says her better half,  a shot glass, a tall glass with Air force emblem.
I just look through my cabinet and got creative. I think this is fun and in my house it is considered art. Chicks and Hens are very easy to transplant they do really well. All you have to do is pick one from its current pot and place it ontop of the new soil. The roots of chicks and hens are not long and  will take hold to new soil easily. They do not need much water as they prefer arid conditions. ENJOY!
